“Justice League” is the best movie so far in which Henry Cavill plays Superman. Of course, the bar for that was REALLY low… The villain is lame, and the movie fails to build suspense at the various cliffhanger points. On the other hand, the cast is good, and there are moments of character interaction that are positively brilliant, and pretty much worth the price of admission. Continue reading

“Marshall” is a sort of biopic. That is, it is based on a single incident in the life of Thurgood Marshall, from his days as an NAACP lawyer. It is very well done, and we enjoyed it a great deal. Continue reading
We were waiting for take-out food, and an elderly gentleman in a veteran’s unit cap sat down next to me while his son went for their car. I asked him if he had been in WWII, or Korea. He said WWII, and I said he must be just a bit older than my father, who had been in boot on VE Day, and in an advanced school on VJ Day, and had then served with the Japan Occupation force.
