“Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” took a large number of first rate components and then threw them into a box and shook the box until something that resembled a finished product coalesced. There are great effects, good actors, good characters, and good dialog, but the whole is so much less than the sum of its parts. We don’t regret seeing it, but that isn’t really a recommendation. I’m behind. Five movies, ten days in bed, a birthday, and writing progress.
“Every Day” is a movie based around the sort of “What if?” premise that is only discussed by adolescents and drunken college students. It makes no effort at all to explain “How?” or “Why?”, and digs right into the matters of romance and ultimately ethics. Oddly enough, it all works pretty well, aided by an excellent cast.
