Stretched my “personally explored” run of the Fox River today by rowing from the Rochester, WI, dam to (almost) the Waterford, WI, dam, about 4.5 miles round trip. Got a new Facebook cover photo out of it, and a few others. Also burned out BAD at the take out, mostly due to shoulder problems. Grrr.

The route: 4.7 miles, about an hour and three quarters. I wanted to get all the way to at least one of the Waterford dams, but the river was too low, and it wasn’t possible. I did find an official take out point, though.

This is a beautiful church in Waterford; I was trying to get it properly framed by the trees, which is something of a trick when you are the only person operating both the boat and the camera on a a river with current. The reflection was pure serendipity; I was unaware of it when I took the picture.

When I took this picture, I thought it was about the family of ducks which looks a lot like a scratch on the picture just in front of the riverbank. I was wrong. Again, I wasn’t really aware of the reflection when I took the picture.
