Errol the errant knight errant
Had a problem with keeping his vows;
He was often off taking his pleasure
When he should have been taking his bows.
While his courage could never be questioned,
And his swordarm was second to none,
It seemed that each maiden he’d rescue
Was no maiden when Errol was done.
He rescued a girl from an ogre,
A dreadfully dangerous task;
She murmured, “How can I repay you?”
And he answered, “Well, now that you ask…”

This is a fragment, and the composition date is vague, but it is just too much fun to not post. It was the direct result of a discussion of the proper use of the word “errant”.
It can be sung to the tune of “Puff the Magic Dragon”, if you must.
